An evocative memory play set in Moscow in 1939, Seams  follows the lives of five seamstresses and one seamster in the Kamerny Theatre during the lead up to the Second World War. It is framed by the memories of an older Russian woman, Frosya, who now lives in Canada and spends her days reminiscing about the past.

Seams is a response to the inherited guilt and the chaos of identity that comes with being a Russian immigrant to Canada. It asks us to confront the cultural guilt we all inherit, regardless of where we come from, and whether we can find ways to overcome it.

Seams was one of three productions featured in the Paprika Festival's "Projects 30 & Under" series in 2015.

Following a successful workshop production at the festival, Seams was selected to be featured as part of the Theatre Series in SummerWorks' 25th Anniversary Season.
